Abstract: Objective: The study aimed to investigate the biomechanical approach to the immediate effect of applying a short static stretching complex immediately before physical exertion, such as a standing long jump. Materials and methods: Our scientific interests involved 30 female participants. Participants in the control group performed two consecutive trials of the standing long jump without any intervention between trials. Participants in the experimental group performed the first trial of a standing long jump, after which they underwent a complex of static stretching for the main muscle groups involved in the jump m. Quadriceps femoris, mm. Ischiocrulalis and m. Triceps surae. Results: The complex includes three repetitions for each of these muscles, each of which is performed with a 30-second hold in the final position. After completing the stretching complex, participants perform a second attempt at a standing long jump. As a result, in both groups, a positive correlation was observed between the first and second trials. Discussion: Higher values in the first trial are associated with higher values in the second one. In the control group, the correlation was high (Rxy = 0.92) but less pronounced. The correlation was stronger in the experimental group (Rxy = 0.96), suggesting that the application of static stretching after the first trial improved performance. Conclusion: Emphasizing the biomechanical approach to the immediate effect of applying a short static stretching complex immediately before physical exertion, such as a standing long jump, can be an effective strategy for improving athletic performance.
