Factors affecting on jumping after two-step approach

Abstract: Volleyball is an active sport, associated with high loads, since most attacking and defensive actions are performed during a vertical jump high above the net. The aim of this study is to investigate the speed-strength characteristics in volleyball players and to identify the factors that have the greatest influence on the jump. Sixteen volleyball players aged 18-19 years participated in the study. The jump was performed after two steps (approach). Two factors with relatively high correlation between them (r=.062) were formed, each consisting of two variables with a correlation between 0.30 and 0.90. The variables in the two factors do not have significant uniqueness (uniqueness <0.06) and can be classified as temporal and strength factors. We can conclude that training for maximum strength and using ballistic and plyometric exercises to develop explosive power over two consecutively distributed periods would lead to the desired result in high jump demand. The jump includes factors that were not considered in this study, such as the position of the CG (center of gravity), the joint angles during the jump (ankle, knee, hip), and muscle activity before the moment of contact with the ground. Tensiometric equipment and a video recorder were used.
