Prediction of blood flow parameters in an inclined artery with multiple stenoses
A. Singh, S. Kumar
Abstract: In this work, a study about the effect of blood flow parameters in an inclined artery having multiple stenoses is considered. Blood is taken as a Newtonian fluid with no-slip conditions on the arterial wall. It is established that all flow characteristics are affected by the presence of a non-uniform channel with two stenoses. Numerical expressions for the flow characteristics such as volumetric flow rate, resistance to flow and skin friction have been derived and solved using Matlab R2022a software. Additionally, the effects of various blood flow parameters such as stenoses heights, flow rate, angle of inclination and wall exponent parameter on blood flow characteristics have been obtained and discussed graphically. Overall, this study contributes to a better understanding of the complex blood flow behavior in an inclined artery with multiple stenoses and provides useful insights for the diagnosis and treatment of related medical conditions.
