The 4th International Conference of the Bulgarian Society of Biomechanics (BSB), BIOMECHANICS DAYS - 2018
Series on Biomechanics
Abstract: The 4th International Conference of the Bulgarian Society of Biomechanics (BSB), “BIOMECHANICS DAYS - 2018”

will be held in Sofia (Bulgaria) from the 31th October to the 2th of November 2018. The coo-organizers of the Conference are: The Institute of Mechanics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, The University of Reims, France, Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, Estácio de Sá University in Rio de Janeiro and Perm National Research Polytechnic University, Russia.

The Conference is dedicated to 10 years since Professor Yuliy Toshev’death, establisher of the Bulgarian Society of Biomechanics (BSB).

The main objective of the upcoming conference is to create an opportunity for researchers engaged in the fields of biomechanics and biomedical engineering to meet and present the latest scientific achievements and discuss the actual problems. The conference “Biomechanics Days” was officially initiated in 2012 and has been repeated successfully in 2014 and in 2016.
One of the main aims of the conference is to create the possibility for students, PhD-students, young researchers and scientists to exchange their ideas and novel methods through the organized Young Investigators Award Competition (YIAC) named to Academician Georgy Brankov, founder of biomechanics in Bulgaria.

TOPICS
Conference topics focus on classical as well as modern methods for investigation and modeling of biomechanical systems with applications in science, engineering and sport. They include but are not limited to:
Mechanics of biological tissues and systems;
Rheology of suspensions and physiological flows;
Computer methods in biomechanics;
Cellular and molecular biomechanics;
Biomechanics and gait control;
Sports biomechanics
Dental biomechanics;
Biomaterials;
Mechanical vibration in occupational activities,
Experimental models to evaluate effects of the mechanical vibration.
Quantification and physical approaches of the mechanical vibration.
Whole body vibration exercise
Applications of Biomechanics in: mechatronics, robotics, bioengineering, biotechnology, biology, medical physics and techniques, man-machine interaction.

PUBLICATIONS
The conference papers will be published in a special issue of the journal Series on Biomechanics (indexed by Scopus) (http://www.jsb.imbm.bas.bg). Submit an abstract (no more than 300 words without formulas) by e-mailing to: s.nikolov@imbm.bas.bg
