Stress and deformation control by eigenstrain: application to mechanics of living and non-living tissues
V.A. Lokhov
Abstract: The method of unique decomposition of eigenstrain into two constituents, namely impotent eigenstrain, that does not cause stress and the complementary nilpotent eigenstrain that does not induce any deformation in the linear elastic solid is suggested for stress and deformation control problems. Decomposition is performed in the Hilbert (energy) function space. The objective functions for control problems are elaborated and short overview of applications of developed theory is given.
