Резюме: Objective: The aim of this research was to evaluate the general knowledge about Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the Medical Doctor program students, as well as to evaluate the students' perception towards the use of AI in medicine. Methods: An online questionnaire was designed for students of Medical Doctor program at the European University. Participants were informed about the purpose of the study. The process was anonymized and carried out online. The questionnaire consisted of multiple-choice and Likert-scale questions, covering various aspects related to AI awareness, knowledge, attitudes, and educational preferences. Results: Most of the students answered that they have moderate or the most recent knowledge about AI. Majority of the participants agree that AI is important for the development of medicine and teaching about AI must be included in the undergraduate medical curricular. The number of participants which were not sure and marked neither agree nor disagree for the several questions was quite high. In the free boxes available at the end of the survey students raised the concerns regarding misuse of AI, also issues related to ethics and empathy. Discussion: Despite this, the findings indicate a widespread recognition among participants of the importance of AI in advancing the field of medicine. Many students expressed a belief that AI education should be integrated into undergraduate medical curricula to ensure future healthcare professionals are equipped to leverage AI effectively. Conclusion: To consider the above-mentioned results, we assume that medical schools should provide teaching about AI within the undergraduate medical education.
