Application of magnetic field in lubrication of synovial joints: composite slider bearing
P. Kumar, K. Shekhar, A. P. Tyagi
Abstract: The present paper deals with the study of composite slider bearing with variable viscosity under the influence of the magnetic field applied tangentially to the bearing and perpendicular to the flow of synovial fluid. It is shown that the load-bearing capacity of human knee joint increases as the strength of the applied magnetic field increases.
