International Conference on Engineering Vibration
International Conference on Engineering Vibration
Abstract: This year Sofia will be a host of an important scientific event. The International Conference of Engineering Vibration, ICoEV 2017, organised by the Institute of Information and Communication Technology and by the Institute of Mechanics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences will held between 4 and 7 September 2017 in Hilton Hotel Sofia. This conference as the previous very successful event in this series held in Ljubljana aims to exchange the knowledge and stimulate development in the world engineering vibration community. The topics of the conference include Structural Dynamics , Wave Propagation, Fluid-Structure Interactions , Dynamics of Rotating Systems, Structural Health Monitoring , Vibration Control and Isolation, Experimental Techniques, Energy harvesting and other vibration themes. In addition, we will have a dozen of mini symposia focused on the specific problems in engineering vibration. A harmonious mixture of plenary, keynote, contributed and poster presentations will be presented at the conference . In the framework of the conference sixteen Mini-symposia are organized: MS 01. Mitigation of Vibrations of Mechanical and Structural Systems; MS 02. Nonlinear Oscillations and Controls of Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace and Naval Structures; MS 03. Modelling, Methodologies and Engineering Applications of Nonlinear Dynamical Systems; MS 04. Vibration of Solids and Structures under Moving Loads: Modelling and Analysis; MS 05. Dynamics of Composite and Smart Structures; MS 06. Nonlinear Dynamics of MEMS & NEMS; MS 07. Vibration of Beams, Plates and Shells, from Nano to Macro; MS 08. Nonlinearity and Stochasticity in Vibrating Systems; MS 09. Vibration in Mechanical and Biomechanical Systems MS 10. Modelling of Friction and Dynamics of Frictional Oscillators; MS 11. Active Vibration Control; MS 12. Nonlinear Effects in Broadband Energy Harvesting from Mechanical Vibrations; MS 13. New Trends in Analytical Approaches to Nonlinear Vibration; MS 14. Vibration-Based Structural Health Monitoring Data Analysis and Time Series Methods; MS 15. Wave Mechanics: Generation and Propagation of Waves in Fluids, Solids and Structures; MS 16. Vibration and Control in Downhole Drilling Processes.
Plenary lectures will be given from world famous scientist in structural dynamics:
• Professor Matthew P. Cartmell from Aerospace Centre of Excellence, Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, G1 1XJ, Scotland, UK
• Professor Anindya Chatterjee , Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Kanpur, India
• Professor John Mottershead, University of Liverpool, UK
• Professor Marcelo Savi, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
• Professor Tomasz Kapitaniak, Lodz University of Technology, Poland
• Professor Haiyan Hu, Beijing Institute of Technology, China
No doubts that this conference will contribute for a better understanding the phenomena in the world of vibration and will rise the prestige of the Bulgarian community of the theoretical and applied mechanics.
