Abstract: The paper presents the results of a comprehensive approach to assess the state of the rheological characteristics of blood and the proteomic studies of blood plasma in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. Non-enzymatic glycosylation of proteins and oxidative stress are fundamental reasons for the formation of late complications of diabetes. Cumulative long-term changes in stable macromolecules are, from contemporary point of view, the main risk factor for the development of late complications of diabetes. The identifying additional plasma proteomic markers for prediction of the late complications of diabetes, may be important in the pathogenesis of the disease and serve as drug targets for the prevention of complications in its early stages.
