Biomechanical aspects of underwater part in swimming after start and turns: Systematic review
B. Angelovorcid
Резюме: Objective: The present study aims to investigate the available information on the effect of the underwater part in swimming. In recent years, with the advancement and improvement of the technical capabilities of video analysis, turns and the underwater part occupy an increasingly large part of the achievements of the competitors. Methods: A systematic literature search was performed through two electronic databases following the PRISMA guidelines for evaluating the quality of the included studies. Some studies focused on video analysis of the underwater swimming part performed from a push start or starting block. Biomechanical analysis of the underwater part included kicking parameters (length, frequency, and amplitude) as well as selected segmental kinematics. Results: Information about the determinants of UUS performance was inconsistent due in part to inconsistencies in the definition of kinematic parameters. Further research studies where automatic motion capture systems are applied to the analysis of underwater part on the aforementioned conditions should be conducted.
