Analysis of Physiological Indicators of Football Players for Transition from Junior to Professional Football
P. Nyagin
Резюме: The level of physiological abilities as a prerequisite for success in football is a theme of interest for coaches. There is a certain amount of data on this topic in sports theory and practice. However, the knowledge is getting deeper and is becoming a tool for explaining the advance in sport worldwide. We have focused on the physiological indicators of men and junior football players in professional football club - PFC Levski. The juniors were divided into two teams, where in one group the adolescents have been selected for the representative team of PFC Levski, and in the other, teenagers were part of the second team of the club. Therefore, the purpose of our research is to reveal the characteristics, which play a role in the selection of players and to implement the knowledge into practice. The aim of the research was to record the collected data. Then, we analyzed the results to discover the factors for the juniors’ selection for professional football. Results: Based on the work with One-Way ANOVA test we uncovered the supremacy in physiological indicators in men over juniors in BMI, FatP, FatM, MM. Yet, the U19sel group is closer to the men’s group. We also used the so-called post-hoc statistics for multiple comparison of non-related samples with Tukey’s HSD. Discussion: There is a variety of opinions of the authors worldwide on the topic about physiological indicators. Therefore, the approach to physical preparation is not one and universal. Anthropometry was developed as a method used by anthropologists to study human proportions. It should be noted that growth and changes in body composition are very dynamic during adolescence and the results obtained should not lead to final conclusions about anthropometric data. While some authors emphasize on the cardio-respiratory endurance, others outline the importance of explosive strength and power. Conclusion: The multiple comparison of non-related samples with Tukey’s HSD unveiled that the men’s group is different from the juniors’ groups. However, the U19sel’s results are closer to these of the men from the representative team of PFC Levski.
